Does your work host a lot of fun events? Pizza parties perhaps? Laser tag with co-workers? Hey, even donuts on Fridays count in my book!

My work does not.

Fun work events are something I wish my company did more of. I don’t know about our Omaha office, but the California office where I work definitely doesn’t partake in enough fun activities. However, once in a blue moon, we do, like go to a baseball game!

But, before I tell you about the Dodger’s game I went to with my co-workers last Wednesday, let me give you a taste of the other, very few events I have attended while working at US Data. I have been with the company for a little over a year now. Around 13 months…and in those 13 months, there have only been 2 previous office events. TWO! This past baseball game was my third work event. Maybe I should be grateful that we do anything at all, but c’mon! US Data, you gotta step of your game!

Speaking of games, 2 out of the 3 events have been baseball games. I don’t love baseball, but I’ll take what I can! I actually really like going to baseball games with my co-workers. The awesome field seats I get through work don’t hurt either, hehehe.

I had a blast! As I did the first time. Nothing like grabbing micheladas, hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, and more beer with cool co-workers who love to eat as much as I do. This year, everyone kept it pretty low key. Oh man, last year, I got way too drunk at the game, it was bad. I was so hung over the next day that it was painful. Getting pre-vomit sick while driving to work is not fun. Uh… but this year, being older and a little wiser, I kept it under control. Cool as a cucumber. Only slightly ‘fermented’ like a fresh batch of kimchi. I swear, being 24 is way different than being 23. I’m actually starting to feel like a real grown up. Scary.

Here are some photos taken at the Dodgers vs. Giants game I went to with my work last Wednesday.

You know, now I think about it, I feel fortunate to work at a company with people that I get along with and that I genuinely like (I think they like me too?!). Even though we don’t get to participate in that many exciting work events together, we always have a good time when we do. So, cheers to that.
