3 Stress-Free Ways to Retain Customers with Email
Email is an easy and wallet-friendly marketing tool that can help tremendously with customer retention. According to research by CMO Council, email marketing was cited as the most effective digital marketing channel for customer retention in the U.S. last year. Once you have managed to close a deal, whether it’s a checkout from an online cart or an offline sale, the next step is to make sure that you keep your customer coming back for more. It’s cheaper to keep a customer than to get a new one. You can do just that by using email marketing to retain customers and build relationships. Here are 3 stress-free ways to retain customers and keep them loyal to your business.
1. Say Thank You
Everyone likes to feel appreciated, and there are many ways to say “thank you” to your customers. You can thank your customers for a variety of reasons, whether it’s subscribing to weekly email newsletters, signing up for a website membership, or completing an actual sale. Whatever the reason may be, make sure to show them your appreciation. You can add some extra oomph to the email by adding a thank you coupon or a personal note from an employee, or maybe even the CEO. It depends on what your business can afford, and what you see as suitable for a customer-thank-you. Continue Reading…

Judging a Video Email by its Thumbnail
Video email marketing has become one of the hottest marketing tactics for email marketers. According to an article by ReelSEO, videos in email have a 55% higher click-through-rate than those that don’t, and adding the word “video” in the email subject line is said to increase email opens by 20%. If managed effectively, videos can be a powerful tool for email marketing.
Although it has become possible to embed videos within the body of an email, they are not compatible with all email clients. Popular email clients such as Yahoo Mail, Outlook, and Gmail do not support videos embedded in emails. Unfortunately, there isn’t a universal video format compatible for all email clients yet. Moreover, emails containing embedded videos are highly likely to be filtered out as spam. However, don’t give up just yet! There are other ways to promote videos in emails. Today, we are going to focus on one of the more popular ways to carry out video email marketing: linked thumbnails. Thumbnails are a better option than embedded videos at the moment. This will probably remain the case until embedded videos work on all email clients. Continue Reading…

USPS Increases Postage Rates for 2015
The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) approved USPS’s recent request to increase postage rates this month. The increase is expected to take effect on Sunday, May 31, 2015. The overall average of all rate increases is around 1.9%. Some postage rates will remain the same, but most prices will rise, including meter rates, Every Door Direct Mail and postcards.
The largest postage rate increase is for Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM). EDDM is a popular mail program created by the USPS where local businesses can target everyone within a certain radius of their location without needing to buy a list of addresses. EDDM is going to have a rate increase of approximately 4.7%. The current rate for EDDM is $0.175 apiece, which will increase to $0.183 at the end of this month. Metering machines will receive a $0.05 increase apiece, and postcards will increase by 1 cent from $0.34 to $0.35 as well. However, there is good news! Not all rates are going up; USPS has decided to leave the First-Class postage rate unchanged at $0.49. This means the cost of Forever stamps will remain the same. Continue Reading…
Liven Up Your Direct Mail Campaign with Color
Many different factors go into creating a direct mail campaign that can capture and hold the attention of your audience. These factors include well-written copy, an attention-grabbing CTA, and a well-targeted list. However, one of the best ways to boost your direct mail campaign is your mail piece design, and one of the most important aspects of good design is use of color. This sounds simple, but color is one of the most powerful elements of design. Color attracts attention, but it triggers something even greater inside of us. When we see color, it has a huge influence over our emotions and attitudes, whether you are aware of it or not. According to research conducted by the University of Rochester, seeing color sends a message to the hypothalamus region of the brain, which then sends signals to the pituitary gland then thyroid glands, which releases hormones that cause fluctuations in mood, emotion, and behavior. It can inspire people to take actions as well. Continue Reading…
