‘Tis the Season: Social Media Marketing Milestones to CelebrateNot only is the holiday season a great time to show your customers some appreciation, it’s also the perfect time to celebrate your many accomplishments throughout the year. It’s easy to lose sight of your accomplishments, especially smack-dab in the middle of the biggest shopping season of the year. Even if you feel super busy during this time, it’s important that you focus on the positive and feel good about the direction your company is going in. Since social media marketing is a relatively new thing for most marketers, keeping track of these campaigns and acknowledging the things you’ve done right is crucial. Give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate the social media marketing milestones you’ve achieved up to this point. Here are a few milestones to celebrate.

Setting up a new company profile: It takes a lot of hard work to get a new company profile up and running. It also takes hard work to start a blog and consistently share these updates with your social media sites. Offering your customers a new and easy way to reach you is a great accomplishment.

Reaching a certain number of followers: If there’s a goal you’ve set for your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc., celebrate when you reach it! Hitting 100, 500, and 1,000 followers, for example, are great accomplishments that should be acknowledged.

Receiving good customer feedback: It might be over-the-top to celebrate each positive comment or review, but you should certainly celebrate if you’re receiving a lot of them. Consistently getting good customer feedback means you’re doing something right.

Improving from the previous month: If you’ve engaged more people, gained more followers, or brought more people to your site this month than last month, that’s an excellent reason to be happy, even if you haven’t hit some monumental milestone. Any improvement is good news, and if you keep improving, your company will keep doing better.

Keep in mind that there are ways to include your company‘s accomplishments in your social media marketing efforts. Of course it’s important to acknowledge your successes and those of your company, but you can also use them to build your business into something better. Here are a few ways to celebrate your social media milestones.

-Make a post on your social media sites about any of your big accomplishments, like reaching a certain number of followers or launching your website.

-Offer discounts or coupons to show your customers that you appreciate their loyalty.  If you’re celebrating a big event, share those moments with your followers.

-Use social media applications to promote those milestones. For example, Facebook has a timeline feature that allows you to categorize big events and memorialize them on your site.

The most important way to celebrate social media marketing milestones is to create new goals. If you’re inspired by your accomplishments, you’ll motivate yourself to surpass them in order to celebrate new ones in the future. As long as you keep pushing yourself, your company will continue to grow, and so will your success. Recognizing your company’s milestones as celebrations, as well as social media marketing opportunities, can help you make a lasting impression on your customers—while also gaining new followers.
